So what's wrong with this picture? Well, obviously.. I ran out of yarn! I saw this really cool pattern in the latest Ulla (an online knitting magazine in Finnish), and without thinking I picked up some lovely Drops alpaca yarn for it at a yarn shop in Sweden a few weeks ago. I guess I figured two balls would be plenty for a pair of gloves. Well perhaps, but not if they're knit primarely with the main colour! Which, by the way, was clearly stated in the pattern, had I bothered to read it through.. Real clever of me! ;-)
Besides, I had managed to pick up a colour that was nowhere to be found in the local yarn stores - I allready checked.. Hopefully I'll find some at the upcoming handicraft fair or in an online store somewhere. Or I guess by really stretching it you could possibly make the yarn ends last all the way - but it's the thumb were talking about here.. you'll be able to feel every knot!
Bummer, I had been looking forward to wearing my new gloves. The yarn is really nice and soft, and not at all as "hairy" as some alpaca yarns can be. Oh well, I'll get my gloves yet.. somehow! :-D
